Darlene Zschech is an incredibly impactful worship leader, singer-songwriter, and pastor. As a pioneer in the contemporary worship movement, Darlene Zschech became a household name during her 25-year tenure at Hillsong Church. There she led worship and helped shape the sound of congregational worship with songs like “Shout to the Lord” & “Worthy is the Lamb.” Darlene Zschech’s work has made an indelible mark on churches worldwide, with her songs sung by millions every Sunday.
Musical Achievements
First released in 1993, Darlene Zschech’s song “Shout to the Lord ” has been sung in churches across the globe, making it one of the most recognized worship anthems of all time. Throughout her career, Darlene Zschech has released multiple solo albums, including Revealing Jesus and Change Your World, and produced or co-produced over 20 albums during her time at Hillsong. Her dedication to worship has earned her numerous Dove Award nominations and critical acclaim within the Christian music industry.
The Zschech Family Church & Missions Work
Beyond music, Darlene Zschech is deeply passionate about missions. In 2004, during a Compassion trip to Africa, she co-founded Hope: Rwanda, a global initiative focused on bringing healing to Rwanda after the genocide. This initiative later expanded into HOPE: Global, with outreach programs in multiple countries, including Cambodia and India. In addition to her missions work, Darlene Zschech and her husband Mark became Senior Pastors at Hope Unlimited Church in New South Wales in 2011, where they continue to serve and lead the congregation.

Darlene Zschech’s life has not been without personal struggles. In 2013, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a battle she publicly shared with her followers.
