COVID19 has completely transformed our everyday life. Church services, worship nights, rehearsals, small groups, all halted and with little to no certainty of when that will change. For this episode, we wanted to reach out to pastors who have navigated their way through this pandemic and found ways to continue serving their church in incredible ways.
In episode 114, we are honored to have Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt who is the lead pastor, along with his wife Jen, of City First Church in Rockford, IL.
On April 2, they gave away 43,000 lbs. of food and supplies to their local community in need with a partnership with Convoy of Hope. And on April 7, they opened up their facility to other local pastors who needed a way to record their Easter sermons for online streaming
When a crisis comes, it unifies. Jesus himself said,
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” John 13:35
Right now, the world’s response to Coronavirus is to isolate, be fearful, and to hoard. We as the Kingdom of God are called to respond the exact opposite. To unite together, have faith, and to continue to be generous.
