Episode 28 is definitely one that digs a little deeper into the why behind worship.
In John 4:23-24 it says:
“23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
There are probably many different explanations of these scriptures, but we wanted to take a look at it from a different perspective being a worship leader…
Often times, it’s easy to lead in Spirit (or by the Spirit) especially for musicians, because we tend to be more in touch with our emotions and feelings… but what does it mean to worship in truth?
Truth is the foundation for everything… if the truth is what sets us free, then it’s probably not just knowing the truth about certain circumstances, but instead knowing the TRUTH about who we are in Christ.
If the basis for truth is the WORD of God, then everything the Bible says about us will become the foundation of our belief system… and when we know our identity and firmly believe that what the Bible says is TRUTH, then we can worship in the absolute freedom that the truth (the WORD) has made a way for.
Understand what the Bible says about YOU, and you’ll be able to worship in not only the Spirit, but also in Truth.
