About Kim Walker-Smith

Kim Walker-Smith, born Kimberlee Dawn Walker on December 19, 1981, in Albany, Oregon, was raised in the small farm town of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Her parents divorced when she was four years old, leading to frequent moves that made her shy and withdrawn. Despite the challenges, Kim Walker-Smith’s musical family background shone through as she began performing on stage at the age of three. Growing up, she was deeply involved in musical theater, which helped nurture her passion for music. At eighteen, Kim Walker-Smith had a life-changing encounter with God, profoundly impacting her faith journey.

Spiritual Awakening and Bethel Church

In her early adulthood, Kim Walker-Smith moved to Redding, California, to attend a Christian college. One night, while driving and crying out to God, she discovered a 24-hour prayer house set up by Bethel Church. Captivated by the atmosphere, she attended a church service there the following Sunday. Kim Walker-Smith eventually left that university to enroll in the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM). Two years later, she joined Bethel Church as a worship pastor, with a heart set on seeing God’s kingdom manifest through worship.

Musical Career and Impact of Kim Walker-Smith

Kim Walker-Smith’s musical style is often referred to as prophetic worship, and she cites Misty Edwards and Suzy Yaraei as significant influences. In 2008, she released her first solo album, Here Is My Song, through the Jesus Culture record label. As a member of Jesus Culture, a youth worship band that originated at Bethel, Kim Walker-Smith has become a prominent figure in worship music. Her renditions of “How He Loves” and “Where You Go I Go” have millions of views on YouTube, resonating deeply with audiences worldwide.

Personal Life and Family

In 2009, Kim Walker-Smith married fellow worship leader Skyler William Smith. Together, they have an incredible album entitled HOME! They have three children: two sons and a daughter. Balancing her roles as a worship leader, recording artist, and mother, she continues to inspire many through her authentic, spirit-led worship.

Kim’s New Album, Trample

Kim’s latest album, Trample, is her first new release in three years, featuring 12 new songs like “Boxes,” “Let Revival In,” “Mama,” and the title track. Reflecting on her journey, she explains that Trample is a compilation of songs written from a place of victory, showcasing her growth and spiritual maturity. She hopes that her music will prophetically awaken a resolve in listeners to stand in victory through Jesus. Above all, she remains dedicated to bringing others into a deeper relationship with God through worship.
